Hangman
Guess the hidden word one letter at a time before the gallows is complete.
Overview
One blank at a time, a hidden word takes shape on the line. Hangman is the classic letter-guessing puzzle: a secret word is concealed as a row of dashes, and each correct guess fills in every place that letter appears. Each wrong guess adds a piece to the gallows, drawn in nine segments, and once the figure is complete the round is lost. The word bank holds more than two hundred words sorted into four categories, which gives you a sense of the territory before the first guess and helps narrow the field when the blanks refuse to cooperate. A single hint is available each game — use it early to confirm a vowel, or save it for a late-stage rescue when the gallows is nearly drawn and the word still has gaps. A streak counter rewards consecutive wins and a saved high score gives you a target to chase across sessions. The game rewards steady vowel-hunting and an eye for common letter patterns.
How to Play
Type a letter on the physical keyboard, or click or tap the matching button on the on-screen A-Z keyboard, to submit a guess. Each correct letter reveals itself in every blank it occupies. Each wrong guess advances the gallows drawing by one of its nine segments. Click the hint button once per game to reveal a letter you have not yet guessed. Keep going until the word is fully spelled out or the gallows is complete.
Tips & Strategy
Start with vowels, then with the most common consonants. E, A, I, O and then T, N, S, R will crack the structure of most words within the first few guesses and leave you with a recognizable skeleton to fill. Let the category guide you — knowing the theme narrows the likely vocabulary dramatically, and a single revealed letter is often enough to guess the whole word from there. Save the hint for a moment of genuine doubt rather than spending it on the second letter, because late in a round one confirmed letter can be the difference between a win and a finished gallows. Pay attention to word length: short words are tight and vowel-poor, while longer words tend to repeat common letters. Track the letters already tried — both the ones that missed, to avoid repeats, and the ones that hit, to spot prefixes and suffixes.
