Typing Rain
Type falling words before they hit the ground — fast fingers survive the storm.
Overview
Words drift downward through the dark, and the only thing standing between them and the ground is how quickly you can type. Typing Rain is a typing drill dressed as a survival game: each word that appears at the top of the screen descends slowly toward the bottom, and the player has to spell it out before it lands. Clear a word and the next one is already falling. Three lives set the limit, and each word that reaches the ground costs one. The word pool draws on more than forty common words, so the challenge is not obscure vocabulary but raw speed and accuracy under rising pressure. A live words-per-minute counter tracks performance through the run, which turns the game into a quiet benchmark as much as a survival test — beat your previous WPM and the run is a success even if it ends early. Levels ramp the descent speed as you progress, so a comfortable pace at the start tightens into a genuine sprint. A saved high score gives each session a concrete target.
How to Play
Type each falling word into the text input and press Enter to submit, or let the final character submit automatically when the word is complete. On touch devices, tap the input to focus it and type using the on-screen keyboard. As you type, letters that match the target word are highlighted in real time, so you can see how much of the word remains. Each word that reaches the ground costs one of your three lives. The level and the falling speed increase as you clear more words.
Tips & Strategy
Type to clear, not to perfect. Speed matters more than flawless accuracy here, because a word still on screen when it lands costs a life regardless of how cleanly you typed the first half. Watch the lowest word on screen at all times — the closest one to the ground is the one most likely to cost a life, so triage by altitude rather than by ease. Trust the partial-match highlight to confirm you are on the right word; if the letters stop lighting up, you have drifted onto the wrong target and need to reset. Warm up your hands before a serious run, since the early levels are forgiving and a slow start compounds into missed words later. Keep your eyes on the falling words, not on the keyboard or the input field, because looking down costs roughly a word's worth of altitude. Use common words to build rhythm — the word pool repeats, and familiar terms are where your WPM actually climbs.
